Tornos Multispindle by Hydromat represent a full line including; The MultiDECO 6 and 8 spindle, 20mm and 32mmm bar-fed and 50mm chucker machines and the SAS 16.6 cam-operated lathe. The latest additions are two MultiAlpha units, a ‘ground-up’ re-design featuring 32mm bar capacity with six spindles or the 25mm eight spindle version. The new MultiAlphas are equipped with this latest generation of spindles featuring synchronous motors. Each spindle functions independently for cutting RPM, spindle stops and indexing. Spindles feature independent speeds enabling a full range of cutting tools to be employed, extending tool life and improving the quality of components produced. E ach position can be used as a C axis, allowing transverse milling or drilling operations to be performed at any time on all spindles. Spindles can be synchronized in angular fashion, allowing eccentric drilling to be performed at several different stations. Advantages include; optimum speed on each position, unrivalled capacity for stock removal, great flexibility – C axis, “Transmit” function, stopping and exceptional spindle acceleration.
